Teacher Club

Teachers club is a forum held periodically for teachers to learn, to share experiences and to grow together united in one mission to give quality education to students in their respective areas.

Since the end of 2003, the Teachers Club has been fully supported by ProVisi Mandiri Pratama within our mission to show concern and contribution to the development of education in Indonesia.

Teachers Club is held because of:

1. Until now there has been no forum focusing specifically on professional development, let alone a forum for many of the other professions.
   
   
2. With the rapid changes in the world of education, teachers have to be capable of coping with these changes and need an umbrella organization to assist them to do this.
   
   
3. The ability of the teachers to improve themselves or even to participate in professional development programs, is uncertain. Teachers need our assistance to do this.

The aims of Teachers Club are:

1. This is an open forum focusing on the world of education
   
2. It is a forum for sharing and for the growth of the individual
   
3. To become an umbrella organization to encourage quality education.
   

Generally the format of Teachers Club’s (5 hours duration) is based on the following pattern:

1. Registrasi
2. Opening (Ice breaking)
3. Presentation
4. Break
5. Education Clinic
6. Closing

The resource people for the program come with various experiences including; teachers, principals, education experts, education consultants, and those interested in education, who have been asked by ProVisi to learn together and share experiences and knowledge.

Teachers Club is now spreading out of Jakarta and is operating in two areas Penajam and Marangkayu in Kalimantan Timur. Teachers Club operates together with Chevron Indonesia. More than 240 teachers, principals and representatives from the local education department welcomed the programs. The participants commented that this was a new and fresh approach, from its themes, resource persons, the methods of delivery.
